Time to apply to graduate
Application deadlines
Be sure to submit your graduation application by these priority deadlines for undergraduate students:
- Spring (May) graduation: October 15
- Summer (August) graduation: January 15
- Fall (December) graduation: May 15
Contact your school or department directly if you need to apply after the deadline.
If you’re a graduate or professional school student, contact your program directly for details about deadlines and application procedures.
Each school or department has its own procedures to follow, so contact your school with any questions to make sure you don’t miss a deadline.
Watch for information about Commencement
IU Indianapolis holds a single Commencement ceremony each year in May. Students graduating during the fall, spring, or summer semesters should plan to attend.
Watch for emails from your school or department and from the Office of University Events with information about Commencement activities.
Graduation applications
Undergraduate students should submit a graduation application to each school where a degree is being earned.
