Returning IU Indianapolis Students

Applying for readmission to Indiana University Indianapolis

Welcome home, Jaguar. Whether it has been two semesters or twenty years, the Indiana University degree you started is waiting at IU Indianapolis.

We've created a step-by-step overview of what you need to know as you prepare your application, the steps to take when you're ready to apply for readmission, and what happens after your application is submitted

If it has been less than two semesters (not including summer sessions) since you enrolled, or if you’re returning from military leave, you don’t need to reapply for admission. Instead, you’ll contact your academic advisor for reactivation.

If you were a student enrolled in the School of Engineering and Technology prior to IUPUI's realignment to IU Indianapolis, you have two options for your return:

  • If you are looking to enroll in one of IU Indianapolis's 100+ undergraduate majors, you can follow the steps below.
  • If you are wanting to continue your engineering and technology degree, you will need to contact Purdue University's undergraduate admissions office.

Are you ready to apply for readmission?

As a returning student, you will apply for readmission to your undergraduate major using our Apply IU application.
