What is a Federal Pell Grant?
If you’re an undergraduate working toward your first bachelor’s degree and you need money to pay for your education, you may be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant.
You may not receive Federal Pell Grant funds from more than one school at a time, or else you might need to repay the grant.
How do I know if I’m eligible for Federal Pell Grants?
To qualify, you must:
- File your FAFSA each year using school code 001813
- Meet federal student aid eligibility requirements
- Be degree seeking in an eligible undergraduate program
- Meet satisfactory academic progress standards

How much will I be awarded?
Amounts change yearly. Your eligibility is based on your enrollment and FAFSA information.
2024–25 Award Year
The maximum Federal Pell Grant award is $7,395 for the 2024–25 award year (July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025).
You can receive the Federal Pell Grant for up to the equivalent of six years (12 full-time semesters).
How do I apply for Federal Pell Grants?
If you have a current FAFSA on file each year, you’ll automatically be considered for aid each fall, spring, and summer semester.
