Schedule time with your Academic Advisor

Plan ahead and get expert guidance on your academic progress by scheduling a meeting with your academic advisor.

Graduate advising: Graduate students can schedule a meeting with their specific program advisor.

What can I expect at my appointment?

During your appointment, your advisor will help you select courses and prepare for registration, provide information about undergraduate programs and requirements, and explain issues you may experience with registration.

You can talk with your advisor about your academic and career goals, review your academic plan, and receive help changing your schedule or your major. Before your appointment, consider any questions you’ll have for your advisor.

Alternative advising options

Many advising offices offer multiple formats and types of advising appointments. You may schedule a virtual appointment or take advantage of drop-in advising services. You might even meet with a peer advisor—a student who has been in your shoes and can help you navigate tasks like registering for classes. Check with your assigned advising office to understand all your advising options, and take careful note of which services are offered by each option.
