What qualifies as an emergency?
Examples of emergencies include unexpected car repair (excluding regular car maintenance), unexpected home repair, computer/technology repair, students facing eviction, and food insecurity.
Requirements vary based on award program. However, most resources require students to meet the following criteria:
- Be enrolled at least half time at IU Indianapolis in a degree or eligible certificate program
- Have exhausted all available federal and state financial aid funds
- Are experiencing a one-time, unexpected financial emergency
Exceptions to these criteria may be made on a case-by-case basis. To help determine your eligibility and to apply for funding, please complete our online application.
