See how much your IU education will cost
Your costs to attend IU will vary based on where you’re from—Indiana, outside of Indiana, outside the U.S.—and whether you’re an undergraduate or graduate student.
What are fees?
Fees are additional charges to cover the costs of certain services, such as technology or labs. By keeping these costs separate from tuition, some charges can be more directly assigned to the students using the services.
There are fees assigned to all or most students to cover the cost of widely used services, for example, access to software. While all students are encouraged to take advantage of the benefits these fees provide, we understand that not every student will use the services each semester of their program.
Undergraduate cost of attendance
Tuition for full-time enrollment at Indiana University Indianapolis covers a range of 12 to 18 credit hours. You will be charged the same tuition rate whether you take 12 credit hours or 18.
The estimated cost of attendance below is for the full 2024-25 academic year (fall and spring semesters).
Your actual costs for housing and food, books and supplies, transportation, and personal expenses will vary.
If you’re from Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Puerto Rico, or Wisconsin, your estimated cost may be less than that of an out-of-state student from a different state due to our Indiana Partners Tuition program.
