Alyssa works with students from Lawrence Central, Lawrence North, Perry Meridian, Roncalli, and Southport High Schools. As a bilingual speaker with native fluency in both English and Spanish, she offers comprehensive support to undocumented and DACA students.
About
Alyssa began working at IU Indianapolis in 2016 as an academic advisor in University College. She joined Undergraduate Admissions in 2018, and now serves as a senior admissions counselor with a focus on diversity and multicultural recruitment.
Alyssa’s favorite memory from when she attended college was studying abroad in Spain, which was an eye-opening experience. “I encourage all students who are able to experience study abroad. It is a great way to travel, have adventures and educate yourself on other cultures and societies,” she says.
On campus, Alyssa’s favorite spot is the fourth floor of University Library. “You have such a spectacular view of campus and downtown Indianapolis from there with the added benefit of quiet reflection time,” she says.
When she’s not working, Alyssa enjoys reading, as well as hiking and traveling with her family. Be sure to ask her where her favorite hiking spot is!
Alyssa comenzó a trabajar en IU Indianapolis en 2016 como consejera académica en University College. Se unió a Admisiones de pregrado en 2018 y ahora trabaja como consejera de admisiones superior con un enfoque en la diversidad y el reclutamiento multicultural.

En el campus, el lugar favorito de Alyssa es el cuarto piso de la Biblioteca de la Universidad, y dice: “Tiene una vista espectacular del campus y del centro de Indianápolis desde allí con el beneficio adicional de un tiempo de reflexión tranquila.”
