Admissions-based scholarships
If you're getting ready to apply to IU Indianapolis as a beginning freshman or transfer student, or have recently been admitted, you’re automatically considered for the highest admissions-based scholarship for which you’re eligible—no additional scholarship application is required. To be considered for all admissions-based scholarships, make sure your application for admission to IU Indianapolis is in by February 15th.
Scholarships requiring an additional application
Once you have applied for admission to IU Indianapolis, you'll be eligible to create your IU computing account. You can then apply for more scholarship opportunities, which may require additional materials, such as a personal statement or letters of recommendation.

Scholarships by academic program or school
Scholarships and fellowships are a great way to lower your costs. Some are offered for specific majors and programs, while others are open to incoming students to the school.

The IU Indianapolis Honors College
The Honors College offers incoming freshmen, who’ve proven themselves academically and beyond, the opportunity to apply for four competitive scholarships. To be considered, make sure you apply for admission to IU Indianapolis by November 1 and then submit your application to the Honors College no later than November 15.
21st Century Scholars
The state of Indiana offers up to four years of undergraduate tuition (12–18 credit hours per semester) for students automatically enrolled in or approved for the 21st Century Scholars program. To obtain and renew this scholarship each year, be sure to file a new FAFSA (school code 001813) by the priority deadline, make satisfactory academic progress, and complete 30 credit hours per year.
Cox Scholars
Cox Scholarships award between $5,000–$15,000 to hardworking Indiana residents, along with service opportunities, connection to other scholars on campus, and the development of personal and professional skills. Incoming freshmen must submit application materials by February 15. The deadline for current students is April 1.
