Help for when life gets in the way

Sometimes there are events beyond your control that impact your eligibility for admissions-based scholarships such as the Jaguar Excellence and Crimson Pride Transfer Excellence Awards. If this happens, here are the steps you need to take.

My admissions-based scholarships are being revoked. What can I do?

While it’s important to keep up with your eligibility requirements, it’s not always possible. If you have been impacted by a situation that made it difficult or impossible to maintain your academic eligibility, you can submit the form on this page to request a scholarship appeal.

How do I know if my situation qualifies for a scholarship appeal?

While every appeal is evaluated on its individual merits, situations we commonly see are:

  • A serious medical condition
  • A family member’s death
  • A divorce or separation
  • Military service

How do I submit an appeal?

First, make sure to include all the basic information the form asks for.

In your statement of appeal, please address why your eligibility requirements were not met and explain what steps you are taking to correct the situation. You’ll also want to upload any applicable documentation, such as a death certificate, physician statement or hospital discharge notification, court documents, or military orders.

When can I submit a request for a scholarship appeal?

It’s best to submit your appeal as soon as you can after being notified that you have not met the eligibility requirements. The priority dates are August 1 for the fall semester and December 15 for the spring semester.

How long will it take to get a response?

We will carefully evaluate your appeal and notify you of our decision by email within 15 business days.
