Getting registered and enrolled

Navigating the course registration process can be a breeze with the right resources. Whether you're planning your schedule, handling registration issues, or seeking advice, we've got you covered. Check out these registration resources and get on the road to enrolling at IU Indianapolis.

Student responsibilities

When you register, the university reserves specific class spaces for you and commits resources to provide the instruction you have selected. As a student, you assume the responsibility for paying for those classes and for withdrawing from them if you decide not to attend.

Your registration will not automatically be canceled if you do not attend class or if you do not pay your bill.  If you do not intend to return to IU Indianapolis for the semester, you must drop your classes by the first week of classes. Canceling your registration by the first week of classes also releases your class spaces in time for them to be available to other students.

The availability of courses is subject to change. For example, a section may be canceled due to low enrollment or departmental staffing considerations. The department canceling a class will notify registered students and help them make alternate arrangements if necessary. Registered students will also be notified if the meeting time and/or location of a course has changed since they registered.
