Chancellor’s Student Advisory Board members enjoy several benefits:

Responsibilities and expectations
The time commitment is approximately two hours per month. Board members meet with the vice chancellor for student affairs and other staff to prepare for upcoming meetings. They also meet with the chancellor twice each semester.
Student representatives serve at the invitation of the Chancellor and must consistently meet all responsibilities and expectations to serve. They include:
- Remaining in good standing with all federal, state, and local laws as well as all university policies and standards
- Participating in regular board meetings deemed necessary by the university with designated facilitator
- Conducting themselves professionally
- Honoring confidentiality of information disclosed
Who can join?
The board is open to currently enrolled full-time undergraduate degree-seeking students at IU Indianapolis. To be eligible, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Enrollment in at least 12 credit hours
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Demonstrate good standing with academic and personal conduct at the time of application and maintain this standing throughout the term of appointment to the board
Terms of service
Board members serve a one-year term.
Applications for the Chancellor’s Student Advisory Board open in January. New members are typically notified in March.
